It’s up to you as to how much electricity you can avoid in any Peak Payment session. Previous trials that the National Grid did showed households could save the equivalent to 3% of their annual electricity usage. That could see you earn £100 cash, plus save another £50 off your electricity bill.

It is likely to be much more money for businesses, given 3% of their usage tends to be a much higher amount. Plus, you may have more electricity intensive appliances you can turn off.

Yes. Our normal Paid to Save programme remains open for households to get paid for any gas or electricity reduction, outside of the Peak Payment session times. This will be at the usual 3p per kwh of electricity and 1p per kwh of gas that you save for cash payments, plus the savings you will enjoy off your energy bills.

Unfortunately, this part of Paid to Save is not yet open to businesses. Businesses can be paid for energy efficiency in Peak Payment sessions only.

No. Our service is smarter than that. We access your meter reads automatically via the industry processes.

Yes. Please check our terms and conditions here: ADD LINK

When you register your address with us, we can tell what kind of meter you have. This applies for both households and businesses.

If your smart meter is not currently working, we will also likely to be able to confirm this with you. If you are ever still asked to send manual meter reads to your energy supplier, then it is likely that your smart meter is not currently working sufficiently in order to participate.

You need to make a request to your current energy supplier.

Currently, the Peak Payment sessions only apply to electricity. However, the Paid to Save programme is for both gas and electricity.

Yes, customers who generate and export electricity (via solar panels, for example) can take part in Saving Sessions, but we’re only able to pay customers for any electricity saved via their import meter.

Unfortunately, no. You can only be registered to one at a time.
